Solheim Cup Two SBRWGA teams compete for prizes. The Team Captains are selected by the Special Events Committee from past Solheim Cup participants. They select their teams from those members wishing to play and complete the pairings for each day with partners paired against a twosome from the opposing team. The format for Day 1 is Four-Ball Match Play. The Day 2 format is Chapman or Pinehurst Match Play. Participants must be available to play both days.
Home & Home SBRWGA hosts members of MV/P and SaddleBrooke 1 for a one-day tournament. The three clubs work together coordinating plans with each hosting a day at their home course. A team event with both gross and net prizes awarded.
Mixed Sticks SBRMGA and SBRWGA are collaborating on this first annual event in 2018. This will be a Ryder Cup match-play format with a Blue team and a Red team competing for honors and prizes.The flighted teams will be comprised of an equal number of men and women and each twosome will be one man and one woman.The Red and Blue twosomes will square off on the front 9 holes (holes 1-9) in a net Chapman format, and on the back 9 holes (holes 10-18) in a net Best Ball format.
Sadie Hawkins A one-day two-person (one female/one male) Best Ball competition. Any SaddleBrooke Ranch resident with a current USGA handicap is eligible. The event is flighted with 40 being the maximum handicap allowed.
Queens of Swing Annual event to determine the year’s low gross and low net Swing Queens. A monthly (Jan-Nov) competition recognizes one low gross and one low net winner. A member may only be a monthly winner one time each year. Winning the monthly competition qualifies members to play on the SBRWGA Robson Challenge Team.
Member/Member SBRWGA members compete with a partner in a one-day two-person Best Ball competition. An eight stroke differential is applied. (If there is greater than 8 strokes difference between partners the individual with the higher handicap plays down. For example: Partner A is a 20 handicap and Partner B is a 32 handicap. Partner B would play to a 28 handicap.)
Robson Challenge A Robson sponsored event with 12-member teams from each Robson community competing. Handicap brackets are used to determine the team composition with a specific number of golfers in each. The SBRWGA team will first be selected from the Queens of Swing winners followed by volunteers whose handicaps coincide with the remaining handicap slots. When necessary a drawing will be held to determine the team representatives.
